16 Plus Support Services

This part of our service is managed by experienced child care practitioners, many of whom have backgrounds in working within local authority social services departments and also in schools and youth departments or in church groups. They specialise in looking after young people leaving care and entering into the wider adult community.

Our Service works with young people needing to make the transition from care home to independence and adulthood. Our service is designed to meet the core needs of young people.

Our aim here is to help:

  • Sort Accommodation that is stable, good quality and appropriate
  • Provide essential life skills which include home management and budgeting
  • Provide financial advice
  • Skills, self-sufficiency through education, training or employment
  • Assistance with Improved relationships with family, significant others and friends
  • Get inclusion in Health, Welfare and community resources
  • Our work focuses on development of the skills, competencies and connections young people need to be able to successfully live independently
